Last fall my husband & I took a little overnight camping trip to Kodachrome. It's a state park near Bryce Canyon, not far from where we live, but we'd never been there. It's a small park but has many hikes and trails to explore and it's absolutely gorgeous.
The campground was wonderful (and had pet friendly options too), the rangers were great, it was overall a great experience. A nice little getaway out in the red rocks with plenty of hiking and not all crowded that time of year. This county of Utah is considered one of the last "dark places" in the country, meaning there's no city lights to obstruct viewing the stars at night. It's one of my favorite places to go stargazing and nearby Bryce Canyon National Park offers regular stargazing parties in the summer. You can find out more here and here.
