October stitch marker fun

Hi from the Southwest! How is everyone doing? The temps are starting to fall here in the desert and we’re having those dark and stormy nights that I love so much this time of year. Perfect for watching spooky movies by the fireplace while knitting & crocheting. Anyway, I wanted to share a little project I recently finished - DIY knit stitch markers.

I’d lost some of my favorite ones and decided to make a few more. I couldn’t find the letter beads I wanted (had to order them online) but found these gorgeous skull & rose beads I decided to use instead. Here’s how I did it.

Materials: (I got everything at my local Joann Crafts store)

seed beads, skull & rose beads

9 mm split jump rings

eye pins

jewelry pliers

Step 1: stack the beads the way you want them on the eye pin, top withe a jump ring.

Step 2: Bend the eye pin over the jump ring and secure it with the pliers.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Couple other tips - I like the split jump rings better than other kinds for knitting markers because they don’t seem to snag on your yarn. For crochet stitch markers, just substitute a lobster claw jewelry clasp for the jump ring.

I hope you liked this little tutorial on how I made my stitch markers! Happy making from my bohemian heart to yours xo
