HI everybody! My temperature blanket is growing nicely and it’s been so fun to watch the process as I go along. In the photo you can see where the navy blue & sapphire blue are - that was a particularly warm week. The lightest blue is the coldest temperature and we’ve had a lot of that lately. We’ve actually had a skiff of snow TWICE in the last week and that is not usual for the desert area where I live. I think it will be fun to look back and remember those times after the blanket is finished.
Several people have asked me what stitch I’m using. It’s called the Crochet Moss Stitch and the Make & Do Crew has a great tutorial video if you want to learn how to do it. It’s super easy and I think it’s a great stitch to show off the variety of colors. Let me know what you think!
I’ve also had a lot of questions about my little yarn bowl. I’m glad you all like it! I did not make it. I painted/glazed it though, at my local pottery shop. And then they fired it and I just picked up the finished bowl a few days later. Check around in your local area and see if you have a place like this. The first one I ever saw was a chain of paint-it-yourself potty shops called Color Me Mine, but a lot of local pottery shops that teach classes and such also have the paint your own pottery option available. It’s fun to do with family or friends as well.
That’s it for now! If you have any other questions about my temperature blanket, let me know! I’m happy to answer them.
