new pattern - Mood Booster Scarf

So you know I looooove my bright colors right? No pastels or muted tones for me. It's gotta be a vivid, saturated color, a little loud, visceral, even. So this scarf was completely inspired by the vivid color combination of the yarn. You guys, I loved working with this yarn. It was the January 2018 yarn of the month from Long Dog Yarn and I bought the bounce sock, which is a blend of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. The colors are so beautiful and they were the perfect thing to boost up my mood during the dark gray winter days. That's why it's called the Mood Booster Scarf!

And I know we're getting into spring in a lot of parts of the world now but some are entering into fall and some are having rainy, snowy, gray dreary springs. So maybe this little scarf can cheer you up a bit!

So Mood Booster is both knit and crochet but it's really simple because I wanted to show off the colors of the yarn. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch and the edging is done in a really nice crochet wave stitch that is really pretty simple to do.

The Mood Booster Scarf pattern is now available on Etsy and Ravelry. If you have any questions let me know in the comments here or email me at

Happy making!

Happy Valentine's Day

I love hearts and was looking for the perfect little heart motif to use to make a garland. I found it at Crochet Tea Party here.  I used scraps of cotton and acrylic worsted weight yarn and a size H hook. Once I had enough hearts, I used ribbon scraps and yarn scraps to make the little tassels on the bottom. Just take a piece of ribbon (or I used 3 strands of yarn) and tie a slip knot with it on onto the bottom point of each heart.

Here's how I joined the hearts:  slip stitch in the middle of the 11 treble stitches on the right side of the first heart, then chain 10 stitches. Join with a slip stitch into the middle of the 11 treble stitches on the left side of the same heart. Chain 10 stitches, then repeat on next heart as for first heart. Keep going with 10 chain stitches in between each heart until you've got all your hearts joined. Easy!

If you have any questions let me know! Lotsa love!
